This is a time that many people await for , because for them is so special and beautiful—Christmas Season, some others not interested in it all all, call this season one of the saddest in their lives. It has been determined to remember the birth of Jesus Christ in December. At the same time, we close a period of our lives which we call year, to open a new one. This way we are able to quantify the times the period of our lives and etc. Yet, what does it truly means to us? Where is your heart in this time..are these festivities merely traditions? Or in them a meaning is enclosed?
If we have already decided to celebrate Jesus' birth this time of the year we have to understand that this must enclose in itself a vast meaning for the life of every person. The birth of a child is mostly a sign of joy, new hopes, new beginnings...a baby always awakes in us tenderness and a sense of protection towards the child. This means that when we commemorate the birth of Jesus, we must allow these emotions to take place in our hearts. Another thing that takes place in this festivity is the exchange of presents. We take this time to show the people we love how much we appreciate them, the same way the three wise men brought gifts to Jesus welcoming Him, demonstrating their admiration and acknowledging the hope He represents for us. These are all traditions we hold and enjoy, yet they are not specifically stated in the Bible—not the date, not celebrating it.

We do have, though, a specific instruction regarding a traditions we should follow to please God. Deuteronomy 11: 16, 18-21 says:
“Be careful, or you will be enticed to turn away and worship other gods and bow down to them. Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates, so that your days and the days of your children may be many in the land that the LORD swore to give your forefathers, as many as the days that the heavens are above the earth.”

What a beautiful scripture! This is the true tradition we should hold—to teach the Word of God to our children. We should do so permanently, restlessly, they should be present in our every activity and the promise of blessing that comes with it is so great! Our days and the days of our children are going to be a long, and we would be in a promised land. Despite the perspective we might take on this, the only thing that we are going to see is peace, joy, blessing, prosperity—where God has called us to be, because remember YOU HAVE BEEN CREATED TO OVERCOME.

Este es un tiempo que muchas personas esperan, porque para ellos es tan especial y bonito—Navidades!!!! Otros no interesados para nada, llaman a este tiempo uno de los mas tristes de sus vidas. Se ha determinado conmemorar el nacimiento de Jesus en este mes de diciembre, y a la vez, cerrar un periodo de tiempo al cual llamamos ano e iniciar otro. De esta manera tenemos control de los tiempos y podemos realizar cuantificaciones de periodos de vida, etc. Pero realmente que significa para nosotros?? Donde esta tu corazon en este tiempo…son estas fiestas solamente tradiciones, o encierran en si un significado?

Si ya hemos decidido celebrar el nacimiento de Jesus en estas fechas tenemos que entender que esto debe encerrar un significado bastante amplio para la vida de cada persona. Un nacimiento la mayoria de las veces es simbolo de alegria, de nuevas esperanzas, de nuevos comienzos. Un bebe siempre despierta en nosotros, ternura, sentido de proteccion y cuidado. Cuando conmemoramos el nacimiento de Jesus, debemos permitir que nazca en nuestro interior estas emociones. Otra actividad que siempre va de la mano a estas fiestas, es el intercambio de regalos. Tomamos este tiempo para demostrarle a la gente nuestro afecto tal como los Reyes Magos llevaron regalos al bebe Jesus. Los mismos le daban la bienvenida, expresaban su admiracion y reconocian la esperanza que representa El para nosotros. Todas estas son tradiciones que hemos seguido y disfrutamos, aunque no estan indicadas especificamente en la Biblia, ni las fechas, ni el reproducir esto.

Ahora bien, tenemos una instruccion bien detallada en la Biblia con relacion a una tradicion que si debemos seguir, en orden de agradar a Dios. Esta se encuentra en Deuteronomios 11: 16, 18-21.
“Guardaos, pues, que vuestro corazón no se infatúe, y os apartéis y sirváis a dioses ajenos, y os inclinéis a ellos; Por tanto, pondréis estas mis palabras en vuestro corazón y en vuestra alma, y las ataréis como señal en vuestra mano, y serán por frontales entre vuestros ojos. Y las enseñaréis a vuestros hijos, hablando de ellas cuando te sientes en tu casa, cuando andes por el camino, cuando te acuestes, y cuando te levantes, y las escribirás en los postes de tu casa, y en tus puertas; para que sean vuestros días, y los días de vuestros hijos, tan numerosos sobre la tierra que Jehová juró a vuestros padres que les había de dar, como los días de los cielos sobre la tierra”

Que preciosa Palabra! Esta la verdadera tradicion que debemos seguir—ensenar la Palabra de Dios a nuestros hijos, de manera permanente, no cansarnos. Sus palabras deben estar presentes en toda actividad y la promesa de bendicion que tenemos si la cumplimos es tan grande! Nuestros dias y los dias de nuestros hijos seran tan numerosos en una tierra prometida. Por donde quiera que sumemos esto da Paz, Alegria, Bendicion, Prosperidad….donde Dios nos ha llamado a estar…
Porque recuerda que TU HAS SIDO CREADO PARA VENCER!!
